Although a newcomer to the "Players", Pete has, to put it bluntly, been around for years!
His acting career began in 1966 when his best friend asked him to join him as a child in "Merrie England", in Halifax for a joint venture between the Halifax Light Opera Society and The Halifax Catholic Operatic Society. For the next three years he became a "Dancer" for the HLOS, as 'Crazy Horse' in "Annie get your Gun" and 'Bacchus' in "Orpheus" amongst others!
Since then he has performed for The Halifax Light Opera Society, The Halifax Amateur Operatic Society, Halifax Thespians (at the Halifax Playhouse), Dewsbury Collegians, Salem Pantomime Society and Heckmondwike Players.
Pete is more at home with comedy roles nowadays as, in his own words, " I have the singing voice of a trout and can't learn lines to save my life!"
He has played almost every pantomime character there is, except principal girl! Although he's come close with some of the Dame's he's played!
Pete has also been involved in lighting and sound at the Halifax playhouse and enjoys being involved in publicity and promotions, more so the latter these days!
There are only two parts he would really love to play before he hangs up his costumes......................
He'll reveal those WHEN HE'S PLAYED THEM!
