Nigel

A brief history....

Back in 1981 Nigel went to a rehearsal for Utopia Limited that Castleford Gilbert and Sullivan Society were doing. It was too late to be in the show as it was the week before, so that year he helped back

stage. The following year he had an audition and joined as a singing member. His first show with them was Pirates of Penzance, which opened on his 18th birthday back in 1982.

The producer of Featherstone Dramatics Society was in one night and asked Nigel if he would like to join them for their pantomime, 3 weeks later he was in Mother Goose, and had a great time.

Nigel did a few shows and concerts with Castleford G&S and a few other local societies.

Having had a few years break his work colleague Andrea Reed who was a member of the Brighouse Light Opera Society, said they were short of men for West Side Story so Nigel signed up. Although equally happy to be in the chorus if there is plenty to do, Nigel does enjoy being a character which he quite often is both on and off the stage.

Since then he has mainly done shows at Brighouse but also with a couple of other societies in the area. One of his favourite shows is Little Shop of Horrors, which he has not had the chance to be in as yet.

The Dentist or Seymour would be appealing parts but until then at least he has the DVD so he can practice.
